Every year, around 83,000 tonnes of harvested plastics are produced on farms.

As a founding member of the ERDE initiative, we are pleased about the officially named recycling targets for 2022.

Together, as an initiative, we are pursuing the goal of collecting and recycling 65 percent of the silage and stretch films put on the German market, which corresponds to about 34,000 tonnes.

The members of this initiative of IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V. and GIGK GmbH offer a joint solution for the return and recycling of used harvest plastics.

In this way, ERDE offers farmers and agricultural contractors a cost-effective, nationwide return option for used agricultural plastics.

The ERDE app is now available for download on the ERDE website, which quickly and easily lists all collection dates and locations for the year 2022.

In addition to silage and stretch films, ERDE also collects round bale nets, baler twine, perforated films, fleece, mulch films and asparagus film throughout Germany.

About ERDE

Under the umbrella of the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V. and in cooperation with RIGK as system operator, ERDE organises the separate return and recycling of used harvest plastics such as silage flat film, stretch film, asparagus film, bale nets, baler twine, perforated film and non-wovens via collection partners throughout Germany. Contractors and farmers collect the harvest plastics and hand them in bundled – broom-clean and freed from coarse dirt – at a collection point.

Recycling companies then process the collected material into new plastic raw materials.
